About Canada Gives: Funding Charities for Today and Tomorrow
Canada Gives is an independent not-for-profit public foundation commited to helping the charitable sector as well as major donors who support it.
Established in 2006, Canada Gives provides today's committed philanthropists and charities with new ways to fund charitable giving using Donor Advised Funds (DAF's), an emerging opportunity within the charitable sector that offers many advantages for the discerning donor.
Canada Gives "total charitable giving strategy" is based on combining short-term funding through one-time gifts with long-term sustainable funding which provides charities with the funding they need today while supporting their long-term goals for tomorrow.
