Minimum Gift
|
Initial Gift of $25,000 to open a donor advised fund Foundation account. Subsequent donations of $1,000 or more

Allocation to Endowment
|
The DAF system was designed to allocate a portion of each donation so you will have funds for TODAY and TOMORROW (endowment gift). Your organization can pre-determine the allocation for the endowment gift or allow each donor to select for themselves. Minimum = 50%

Amount for Annual Grants
|
Canada Gives calculates the minimum amount of funds available to grant each year from the DAF account according to CRA requirements. We also calculate the maximum based on the total investment return each year. You can decide how much to distribute for grants or allow your donors to make their own choice.

Choosing Grant Recipients
|
You will pre-determine what percentage of the annual grants should go to your organization as a minimum, leaving the balance for the donor to direct.

Investment Management
|
Canada Gives bears the -duciary role for the DAF program which includes the financial management of the endowment assets.

Tax Receipts
|
Canada Gives will process the tax receipts. You have the option of mailing them out with other materials.

Fees and Costs
|
There is no out of pocket cost to the charitable organization for managing the donor advised funds. CG Administration fees are deducted from the individual account, based on the size of the endowment gift and the one-time gift. A set up fee for co-branded donor reports, forms,& tax receipts is applicable.

Reporting
|
Canada Gives provides individual donor reports on a regular basis with a copy to the charitable organization. You can decide how they are mailed.
