Setting up a Foundation Account
Canada Gives' Foundation Accounts helps you to set up and manage a Foundation. You name your Foundation, determine which charities you wish to support and establish a strategic philanthropic plan to achieve your goals.
- Complete a Foundation Account Application Form.
- Funding the Account: Making the Initial Donation
If you are donating cash, please download and complete the form "Charitable Donation of Cash" for Foundation Accounts. If you are donating securities, please download and complete the form "Charitable Donation of Securities in Kind" for Foundation Accounts.
- Mail or fax to Canada Gives; a tax receipt for each donation will be sent to you immediately. Canada Gives will send the reports to you on your Foundation account on a regular/semi-annual basis.

If you are ready to create your account and make your first donation, simply complete the forms online and print.

Charitable Giving Account
If your charitable giving strategy is designed for annual gifts of $5,000 or more you may wish to open an Charitable Giving Account. This Account is particularly helpful if you are donating securities, if you wish to support a number of charities, or if you wish to remain anonymous with some/all of your gifts.
- Complete the "Annual Giving Account Application Form" and attach a copy of your photo identification.
- If you are donating cash, simply attach your cheque or money order.
- If you are donating securities, you also need to complete the form entitled "Charitable Donation of Securities in Kind" for Annual Giving Accounts.
- Mail or fax to Canada Gives; a tax receipt for each donation will be sent to you immediately; Canada Gives will send semi-annual reports to you.
