Canada Gives provides Denise the lifetime satisfaction of combining financial industry experience with personal values. Denise set-up Canada Gives to expand longer term funding capacity in the not for profit sector, and to provide major donors with an opportunity to make their legacy count – by enabling them to fund charities for today and tomorrow. She has recently expanded Canada Gives services to help Canadian donors and family foundations more easily support international charitable projects and make their legacy count overseas.
Brent brings his extensive experience in both the wealth management industry and the not for profit sector. Brent operates Babcock Agencies Inc, offering private equity opportunities for personal and institutional investors as well as working as an Associate Pastor at the downtown Toronto site of The Meeting House. Brent Babcock serves on a number of Boards, and is passionate about life, his family and golf.
As President and C.O.O. of Atlas Canada, Bob has over 30 years of experience in the moving industry. He has trained thousands of moving consultants and helped hundreds of agency owners improve their business practices and profitability. Bob is also past Chairman of the Ontario Club, a former Director of Child Find Ontario and is currently a second-term Director with the Royal Lepage Women’s Shelter Foundation. Bob and his wife Janice are long-time residents of Oakville ON and are active members of St. Jude’s Anglican Church.
John has more than 35 years experience in the Canadian financial services industry and brings unique experience to Canada Gives. He has built and managed capital markets sales teams for Wood Gundy and CIBC World Markets, and more recently focused on providing institutional clients with transition management, custody and pension-related services. John has served on the Toronto regional board of the CNIB and is a former Torgi Award winning narrator for the CNIB’s Talking Books program.
Larry J. Levine, Q.C. is a specialist in civil litigation and a practicing lawyer since 1972. He is presently a senior partner with a law firm that he established in 1990. He actively represents clients in the Superior Court of Justice on a regular basis and was successful counsel on a leading case in the Supreme Court of Canada on the enforcement of foreign judgments in this country. Larry is an active fund raiser, volunteer and Board member of several charitable organizations.
Gilles R. Marceau, CFP, CLU, RFP, PRP has had a successful four-decade career in the life insurance, banking, and investment and securities businesses. He was a contributor to The Essential Individual Pension Plan Handbook and co-authored The T.A.S.K. – Trusted Advisor’s Survival Kit (Lexisnexis Canada, 2009). Gilles has been involved in private philanthropy for 39 years and is currently Executive Director of the Buchan Family Foundation. Gilles brings expertise in international charitable project management that ensures all stakeholders achieve maximum impact and measureable results.
Simon Segall is Vice President, Business Development with Greystone Managed Investments Inc. in Toronto. He has worked in the Canadian investment and pension industry for over 35 years. For several years, Simon has lectured on pension fund investing at the Humber College Centre for Employee Benefits. In addition, he has served as a Board member at the Distress Centres of Toronto and at the Scarborough Distress Centre. Simon has also served as a member of the pension sub-committee at the Ontario March of Dimes.
With over 40 years experience in the music industry, advertising and broadcast media, Douglas brings a unique perspective and diversity of experience to our member and media communications. He has been a devoted and welcome volunteer member of our team since inception.
